A Community-wide Conversation hosted by Martha Woodroof
Everyone who listens to this station is a member of a WMRA community. We’re a curious bunch; people who think, read, write, do things, listen and talk in an effort to stretch our minds and enlarge our experience. Over the years, we who work at WMRA have met a lot of you, personally, and we're starting this blog in order to keep the conversations going that we've begun face-to-face. Here is our space to talk about anything and everything that interests us: writing, reading, politics, art, sports, international affairs—whatever! Civility and respect should be our conversation’s only constraints.
Thanks, Charlie, thanks, Martha -- enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteOn this Memorial Day - it might be worth re-mentioning the essence of a story that aired on WMRA one week ago.
ReplyDeleteA group of acupuncturists offer a free, weekly acupuncture clinic to anyone currently in the U-S military, any military vet, and their families.
It's on Mondays, and will be held again tonight, 7pm, at the JABA Center in Charlottesville.
The story about the clinic is available at http://www.wmra.org/, in the WMRA News section, under the headline "Gift Clinic for Veterans."
Wow, what a lovely picture. Thank you, Charlie. I have been enjoying the delicate shell pink of some fairy roses I planted last year, which have just now started to spread and bloom in clusters. These days, I mostly see the "knockout" variety of rose, which is nice, but as far as I can tell, nothing compared to a real rose.
